• Jeff Crockett’s work will be groundbreaking for actors and other performing artists, therapists, somatic practitioners, educators, mediators, restorative justice practitioners, and everyone wishing to live a more brave, communicative and open life. Jeff’s work has been invaluable to my growth as a human being, Alexander Technique (AT) teacher and dancer. I have known and worked with Jeff for many years, as co-faculty at American Conservatory Theater’s MFA program, and as his student. Jeff's thoughtful integration of breath and polyvagal theory creates a scaffolding for more presence in everyday life, and more daring leaps in performance. After studying with him, I am living with greater courage, self-acceptance, and abiding inner safety.

  • Working with Jeff changed my life. The way he gently yet acutely listens, guides, and instructs is truly special.

  • Watching Jeff work with actors is to witness a Master. Under Jeff’s tutelage, actors become vulnerable and alive as they learn how to make choices that align with inner safety, inner knowing and inner control. Notably absent is the trope of an authoritative acting teacher breaking down students to reach a cathartic moment of truth. With Jeff, there is no damage, only healing. Sometimes, while observing a breath exercise between actors, I felt like I was front row to the greatest theater performance in the world. So much was being communicated through free, breathing bodies. The benefits of the allowed breath are relevant for everyone. We all encounter charged or difficult interpersonal situations, we all wish to live with freedom, ease and full expression. Jeff’s work is a doorway into the innate wisdom of our wholeness through breath.

  • Jeff is a holistic, compassionate, curious and expert facilitator. His deep understanding of the nervous system and its relationship to our sense of self is exemplary and always in evolution. As a neurodivergent with significant childhood trauma, I can say that working with Jeff allowed me to move through my experience on my own terms and gave me the tools to stand in the power of my understanding. His work draws the essence of a person back to themselves and, at any rate, is wildly underpriced.
